Casserole Recipes Meat and Potato Ingredients
750g mashed potatoes
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg (beaten)
Salt and pepper to taste
375g cooked meat (minced)
Corn meal
250 ml thick gravy Action
a. Grease the inside of casserole,
and coat it with corn meal.
b. Mix the butter and part of the egg,
with the potatoes.
c. Sprinkle over salt and pepper.
d. Line the dish with this mixture,
leaving a cavity in the center.
e. Brush with the rest of the egg.
f. Bake 20 minutes in a 200°C,
or 392°F oven till brown.
g. Heat the meat and gravy together,
and season.
h. Turn out the potato cake, fill it,
with the meat mixture and serve hot. ------------------ New Meat Pie Ingredients
500g meat (boned)
500g potatoes
2 onions
Salt and pepper to taste
3 carrots
Water Action
a. Peel and slice the potatoes,
carrots and onions.
b. Cut meat in small pieces.
c. Fill a casserole with alternate layers,
of meat, carrots, and onions.
d. Lay uncooked potatoes on top,
of the pie.
e. Fill dish 3/4 full of water.
f. Bake in 180°C or 356°F oven,
for 90 minutes.
