Additional Recipes Watermelon Pickles One Ingredients 4000g fruit pared 2000g sugar 1000 ml vinegar 200g mixed whole spice 1 ginger root Cloves Allspice
Action a. Cook all ingredients except fruit for 10 minutes. b. Add fruit and cook 45 minutes, until mottled and clear and glazed. c. Pour off liquid for following 3 days. d. Boil 3 minutes and keep in covered crock.
------------------ Watermelon Pickles Two Ingredients 2500g fruit (peeled and cut into squares) 1000 ml vinegar 1200g sugar 100g cassia buds 3 small pieces of ginger root
Action a. Steam the fruit until tender. b. Boil other ingredients 10-15 minutes, until quite thick. c. Add the steamed and transparent pickles. d. Cook a few minutes or more. e. Can while hot.
------------------ Easy Vegan Recipes Sweet Cucumber Pickles Ingredients 12 green cucumbers 150g granulated sugar 250 ml vinegar 2 teaspoons cloves 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Action a. Soak cucumbers in slightly salt water, for about 1 hour. b. Boil a thick syrup of sugar and vinegar. c. Tie up cloves and cinnamon in a muslin cloth, and boil in syrup until it thickens. d. Drain cucumbers, and rinse well in clear water. e. Add to the syrup. f. Set them back on a very low heat. g. Let them simmer gently for 3 hours.
Note: This can be done with Crock-pot, Fire-less Cooker and Slow-cooker. ------------------ Sweet Tomato Pickles Ingredients 4000g sweet tomatoes 2000g powdered sugar 2 tablespoons cinnamon 2 tablespoons cloves 2 tablespoons all spice 1000 ml boiling vinegar
Action Boil all for 1 hour and add the vinegar.
------------------ This maybe added into your Free Recipe Cards. Pickled Sweet Apples Ingredients
Sweet apples (pared, cored and quartered) 500 ml vinegar 800g suagr A few pieces cinnamon A few cloves
Action a. Boil a syrup of the vinegar and sugar. b. Add cinnamon and cloves. c. Drop apples in syrup and cook until tender. d. Put them in jar and pour the syrup over. e. When cold, they are ready to eat.
Note: When you are not eating now, you may seal it to keep for longer time. ------------------- Easy Vegan Recipes Pickled Sweet Pears Ingredients 500 ml cider vinegar 625g sugar 6 whole cloves 12 allspice Few pieces cinnamon
Action a. Boil cider vinegar for 10 minutes. b. Tie spices in muslin cloth and boil in vinegar. c. Select small sweet pears, pare them, and boil gently in the vinegar. d. When the pear look clear, drain off the vinegar. e. Put the pears in jars. f. Reheat the vinegar and pour over. g. Seal, when keeping long.
------------------- Spiced Currants Ingredients 2500g currants 1000g sugar 500 ml vinegar 1 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon pepper 1 tablespoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon cloves.
Action Mash well together and boil 20 minutes.
------------------ Pickled Onions Ingredients Small equal sized onions Vinegar Whole cloves Mace
Action a. Peel and scald onions in slightly salt water, until tender. b. Drain and put in glass jars. c. Heat to boiling point enough vinegar to cover them. d. Scalding with the cloves and mace. e. Pour it over the onions. f. Spread spices among the jars and seal the jar tight.
