Wonderful Italian Cooking, Italian Appetizes,
and Spaghetti Recipe.
For Spaghetti Recipe
1/4 onion (fine chopped)
1 clove of galic (fine chopped)
1 piece celery (6 cm in length)
A few bay leaves (fine chopped)
Some parsley (fine chopped)
Salt and pepper
a. In a saucepan, combine all ingredients,
and season with a little olive oil,
salt and pepper.
b. Add tomatoes and put,
on heat together.
c. Stir it from time to time.
d. When the juice is condensing,
into a thin custard and strain,
through a sieve.
e. It is ready for use.
Macaroni or Spaghetti
125g bacon (grinded)
1 small onion (grinded)
1 clove of garlic (shredded fine)
A few dried mushrooms
(Soften in lukewarm water)
250g round steak (cut in little cubes)
1/2 tablespoon tomato paste
a. In a saucepan, fry the bacon.
b. When the bacon begins to brown,
add the onion, parsley, garlic,
c. When the vegetables are very brown,
add round steak cubes.
d. When the meat is brown, add tomatoes paste.
e. Simmer slowly for about 45 minutes,
until all has cooked down to a thick creamy sauce.
f. Sprinkle the cheese over the cooked spaghetti,
and pour on the sauce.
g. Lift with 2 forks until thoroughly mixed.
Note: Italians serve the spaghetti,
or macaroni at the beginning of the meal,
in place of soup. They give it the name,
of "Minestra Asciutta".
Bacon and Spaghetti
125 bacon (sliced)
1 onion (cut fine)
750g hamburger steak
1 tablespoon chilli
Salt and pepper to taste
1 canned tomatoes
a. Fry bacon and onion and fry,
until slightly browned.
b. Add steak and fry until thoroughly cooked.
c. Boil spaghetti and drain off water.
d. Mix all together and season,
with chilli, salt and pepper.
e. Pour tomatoes over this.
f. Bake in covered pan for 2 hours.
