Wonderful Strawberry Shortcake, Sponge Cake, Chocolate Cake, and Special Cake Decorating Competition.
Friends, can you please read through the Strawberry Shortcake,
Sponge Cake, and Chocolate Cake with me, and give me,
your frank opinions?
I am being invited to participate in a Cake Decorating Competition,
during this coming week-end. Your support please?
Is this simple shortcake good enough?
Strawberry Shortcake One
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
185 ml milk
1 egg (beaten)
a. Mix and sift dry ingredients 3 times.
b. Rub in the butter, add milk and egg.
c. Bake in preheated 180°C oven for about 15 minutes.
d. Cut and open the cake, butter and insert strawberries.
e. Top with strawberries and whipped cream.
Note: This dough can make 6 individual cakes.
Strawberry Shortcake Two
500g flour (sifted)
1.5 teaspoon baking powder (sifted)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
250 ml milk
Slightly crushed and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
a. Mix all the dry ingredients well together.
b. Add butter, and milk.
c. Flour the board slightly, lay the dough upon it,
and roll down to the thickness of about 1.5 cm.
d. Place a jelly-cake plate upon the dough,
and cut around its edge with a sharp knife.
e. Butter two jelly-cake plates, and place the cakes in them.
f. Bake in a 200°C oven, for 12-15 minutes.
g. On removing them from the oven, tear them apart,
with hands and spread between the matched cakes strawberries.
h. Add 500g whipped cream to the fruit,
and serve immediately.
Strawberry Shortcake Three
1 teaspoon salt
500 ml milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1000g strawberries (washed and well drained)
a. Sift baking powder into flour.
b. Mix the rest with the flour thoroughly.
c. Add more flour to make a very thick batter.
d. Bake in greased dripping pan, and break in squares.
e. Serve hot with butter.

Strawberry Shortcake Four
2 soft sponge cakes dough
130g powdered sugar
(sweetened with powdered sugar)
a. Filing two round buttered cake tins,
with the soft dough.
b. Bake just before dinner, butter the top,
of the cakes slightly.
c. When done, leave them in the oven,
with the door open.
d. Mix butter, powdered sugar and crushed strawberries,
to make sauce.
e. When ready serve the dessert. Put one cake on a large,
f. Cover the cake with whole berries,
and put on the other layer.
g. Cover this also with berries and pour the sauce over it.
h. Serve at the table, cutting as usual,
and putting extra berries beside each piece.
a. Add more strawberries to thin the sauce and color.
b. This cake makes a wonderful dessert,
and it is a heavy dessert.

Strawberry Shortcake Ring
Drop soft biscuit dough into a well-buttered ring mould,
and bake as usual.
a. Turn out the cake on a pretty flate.
b. Fill center with freshly sugared, large and beautiful
strawberries, raspberries and sliced peaches.
c. Cover with vanilla ice cream, and garnish the outside,
of the loaf with mounds of pretty berries.
